Department Budget Information
The City Attorney, who is appointed by the City Council, provides legal advice and assistance to all City offices and to the City Council.
The City Attorney represents and advises the City Council, Boards and Commissions, officers and employees in  all matters of law pertaining to their offices and official activities; prepares all proposed ordinances, resolutions and amendments; prepares or approves the form of all other legal documents and represents the City in litigation to which the City is a party. City Attorney services are provided on a contractual basis.
