| | | | Used Motor Oil & Filter Recycling D id you know that motor oil pollutes everything in its path when it's dumped into street gutters and catch basins? Each year, many gallons of motor oil are dumped in California neighborhoods, contaminating coastal waters and beaches. Illegal dumping of motor oil is extremely damaging to the environment, can result in significant fines to violators, and represents a tremendous waste of resources. Used oil can be re-fined into "new" lubricating oil. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that over 200 million gallons of used motor oil is disposed of improperly in California each year by Do-It-Yourself oil changers (DIY). Illegally disposed DIY is the largest pollutant to our oceans and underground drinking water resources. One gallon of motor oil can contaminate one million gallons of water! Fortunately, this problem has a solution. Have you seen the Used Oil Race Car? Keep your eyes out for the car and driver at city events. Meet Chris Johnson and sit in his actual Nascar Race Car.
