|Christmas Tree Recycling|'Tis the Season to TREEcycle!
West Covina single-family residents can recycle their cut Christmas tree through their curbside collection service. Athens Services will collect trees curbside between December 26, 2012, and January 11, 2013 on your regular trash collection pick-up day.
How to Recycle your Christmas Trees
Please remove all lights, tinsel, garland, plastic wraps, tree stands, wire, rope, nails and all other foreign materials from trees before recycling them. Flocked trees coated with fire retardant will be accepted.
Non-Recyclable Christmas Trees
Please place your tree in the BLACK trash container if your tree is artificial or remains decorations or ornaments. If the lid does not close and the tree is too large to fit into the container, contact Athens Services at (626) 336-6100 to schedule a bulky item pick-up at least one day prior to your regular pick-up day.
Why Recycle your Tree?
used throughout the parks system. All recycled Christmas trees are composted or chipped to be spread throughout the parks. The chips will help alleviate soil compaction caused by foot traffic, reduce soil erosion, and will provide nutrients to the soil.
