AGENDA

I. REQUEST: 

City of West Covina 

THAT A STOP SIGN BE INSTALLED ON SOUTHBOUND TINKER STREET AT GEHRIG STREET. 

SUMMARY: 

There is a concern about the potential for accidents at the presently uncontrolled intersection of Gehrig Street and Tinker Street. A stop sign is proposed on southbound Tinker Street in accordance with the State Traffic Manual warrants for a single stop sign. 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: 

THAT A STOP SIGN BE INSTALLED ON SOUTHBOUND TINKER STREET AT GEHRIG STREET AND 50 FEET OF CENTERLINE STRIPING (SOLID YELLOW) BE INSTALLED ON TINKER STREET AND GEHRIG STREET. 

II. REQUEST: 

City of West Covina 

THAT NEW SHUTTLE STOPS BE ESTABLISHED AT 721 NORTH AZUSA AVENUE, 703 NORTH LEAF AVENUE, 845 NORTH LARK ELLEN AVENUE, 1211 BADILLO STREET, 105 NORTH VINCENT AVENUE, AND 1800 BADILLO STREET ALONG THE BLUE LINE ROUTE. 

AUTHORIZE THE CITY ENGINEER TO INSTALL RED CURB/NO PARKING ADJACENT TO SHUTTLE STOPS AS NEEDED. 

SUMMARY:
 

The West Covina shuttle provides transportation within the City. The Blue Line is expanding its existing route and has added several new stops to accommodate more residents and their needs. In accordance with the West Covina Municipal Code Section 22-170, the Traffic Committee is authorized to establish bus zones for the loading and unloading of passengers.
