Numerous community organizations in West Covina exist to facilitate volunteering that strengthens our families, churches, businesses, non-profit organizations, and the City we live, work, and play in. Supporting these volunteers groups can enable them to succeed in a variety of areas, which benefits everyone in our community.
The City of West Covina holds an annual Community Services Day dedicated to promoting and celebrating the wonderful projects and programs that West Covina volunteers dedicate themselves to accomplish each year. Last year was the first year celebrating the work and projects these volunteers accomplished. This year's event will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017. The event begins with a continental breakfast at City Hall (1444 W Garvey Ave). Groups then break up and complete a series of community volunteer projects to improve our community. The many volunteer projects throughout our city include park clean-ups, a food drive, and home improvements (to name just a few). Then volunteers will enjoy a BBQ lunch at Cortez Park (2501 E Cortez) at the conclusion of the community service projects.
