The City of West Covina was honored today as a KaBOOM! Playful City for 2013. With research proving play is critical to the overall well being of children, 217 cities and towns, including 26 cities in California, earned this prestigious recognition for making play for children a priority. West Covina is one of 37 cities nationwide to receive this recognition for the first time.

The City of West Covina filed a lawsuit in Sacramento Superior Court of California against the State of California, applicable State agencies and taxing entities to protect the City from the State's intention of illegally taking City funds that legally and rightfully belong to the City and its residents. "EVERY 15 MINUTES" PROGRAM SHOWS THE DANGERS OF DRINKING AND DRIVING
The West Covina Police Department recently spearheaded the successful "Every 15 Minutes" program at West Covina Hills High School. The name of the program stems from the startling statistic that someone dies as a result of an alcohol involved collision every fifteen minutes.
