The Human Resources Commission acts in an advisory capacity to both the City Council and the Personnel Officer (City Manager) in all matters relating to personnel. The Commission may review the recruitment and selection processes for the classified service and they make comments and recommendations regarding such processes. In addition to these specific responsibilities, the Commission may conduct hearings when requested to do so by the City Manager or City Council. In this area, Council has authorized the Commission to make the final determination regarding retirement of public safety employees injured while on duty.

The Human Resources Commission meets every other month in EVEN numbered months on the 2nd Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Management Resource Center (3rd Floor) Room.
