WEST COVINA – Signing your first commercial lease? Renewing your business lease?  The City of West Covina and SCORE are hosting a “How to Negotiate a Commercial Lease” workshop on Thursday, August 25, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the West Covina Council Chambers (located at 1444 W. Garvey Avenue South, West Covina, CA 91790).  Mr. Dennis Wright, SCORE mentor, will guide you towards the best method to make the best deal possible.

Mr. Dennis Wright has approximately 15 years of leasing experience and at retirement, he oversees leasing activity for 16 operating companies, having over 300 facilities totaling over 300 million square feet of leased space throughout North America. He currently mentors SCORE clients on all things related to leasing.

Mr. Wright’s presentation will also cover the impacts of facility related costs on businesses. Aside from staffing costs, facility costs also have a large impact on profitability for a business. Mr. Wright’s presentation will cover the do’s and don’ts when it comes to negotiating commercial leases to ensure that your business makes a profit while securing your lease term. In addition, Mr. Wright will discuss real life examples of mistakes that are commonly made. This workshop is a great opportunity for those who are looking for office or retail space or those who will be negotiating lease renewals within the next 12 months.
