The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council and provides legal counsel and assistance to the City Council and all City Hall departments.  

The City Attorney represents and advises the City Council, Boards and Commissions, Officers and Employees in all matters of law pertaining to their offices and official activities; prepares all proposed ordinances, resolutions and amendments; prepares or approves the form of all other legal documents and represents the City in litigation to which the City is a party. City Attorney services are provided on a contractual basis.
